I have to admit… I was a little hesitant to post this picture… I had originally planned to post it the moment I finished it… But it didn’t happen. I guess I am just not used to posting my original stuff. I sometimes have a hard time accepts criticism when it comes to my originals. I guess it’s because they mean more to me than my fan arts. *laughs* But anyway… I’m going to go out on a limb and post a picture that is one hundred percent created by me. Yay! *laughs*
Well I suppose I should try to tell you a little bit about the picture huh? The idea came from a picture I drew a long time ago. I found it while searching through some old papers and I decided to redraw it. I spent the entire summer working on this thing… so I guess it was worth it. *laughs* I have to admit I am pretty pleased with the way it came out. (And unfortunately now that it’s finished I can see all the things I could have done better, oh well I guess. Do better on the next one). The fish especially… I need to work on drawing animals and such. I should have gotten a book on fish or something…
Oh, a couple of friend’s brought this up when they saw me drawing this so I thought I should mention it before I start getting comments on it. I never meant for this to look like an anime version of the Little Mermaid. In all honesty… I didn’t even have that story in mind while I drew this. The characters were for a manga that I was going to create but never got around to. I might start it up again someday.
Well I guess that’s all. I hope you like it. Oh and if you critique, please be nice. *bows*
Materials - 8 1/2"x11" Computer paper, Ballpoint black pen, mechanical pencil, and crayola color pencils
How did you color like this with just crayola colored pencils? How did you do the shine and the water??? I have color pencils at home and I not very good with them. Please tell me!!! This is awesome!!
The fish are slightly off and I am trying to get a better look at your young pirates body to see if it's proprtionate... but at any rate your mermaid reminds me of Kagome from Inu Yasha... but as has been said before, crayola coloured pencils? That is just incredible wow.
This is a lovely picture. Great coloring and detail. The only thing that bothers me is the mermaid's eye. It doesn't look like she's looking at the man. The other thing...and call me crazy on this one...is that this couple looks like Rinoa and Squall of FF8...almost.
ohh this is very lovely i love all the action going on in the picture! its stunning! i love all of your art work and i believe i commented on sum at animex.com

Seifer-Sama!! Wow your coloring is Amazing, and crayola colored pecils are hard to work with...Well I think so^^.. Oh yes! Once I was going to tell you about prismacolor pencils, however when I checked on your later art I already found out you were using them! Oh Ive always wanted to know...Do you use those drawn out body mannequin...thingys (I dont know the word...) when you draw or is it all just free drawn? (Without the mannequin thingys I mean ^.^;; ) And! One more suggestion (I hope you dont mind >< ) But what I have done so far in my drawinfs (None off those are up in Deviant...my scanner isnt working dunno why..) Okay what I have dont is the prisma color grays, I use them as a 1st layout. What I do is shade the picture (the wrinkles, etc.) you can use whatever shading or % you want depending on whatever and just do a basic shading layout 1st. The like sayyyy one sleeve is blue. The in the darker shading area use lets say navy blueand follow along the shade pattern youve made and etc with other colors. You know what? Ill post or try to post up this panda coloring I did and ill show you (I dont have much in my gallery soooo it wont be hard to find ; ) Sorry I typed so much ><.. Gomen-Nasi... Thanks so much for displaying such Superb and amazing drawing on here! Your my idol :-D!!
Ciao!
